Offered for sale is a pair of wonderful, 19th century, apothecary pharmacy bottles sporting a colorful, hand painted, glass label marked “IPECAC and TRIFOLIUM.PRAT.” that came from the former A.D. Pierce Pharmacy in Hartford, CT!! The 8.5 inch tall fluid extract bottles are an impressive sight to see when displayed! There are no markings on the bottom of the bottles. The condition of the amber TRIFOLIUM PRAT bottle is very nice including the label which has minor imperfections. The IPECAC bottle is in fine condition. The glass label is complete with an unobtrusive crack as seen in the photo. The A.D. Pierce Pharmacy originated in Hartford, Connecticut, at 914 Main Street during the late 19th century and later relocated to 247 Sigourney Street in Hartford as A.D. Pierce and Son. Posted along with photos of the bottles, is an image of the pharmacy, circa 1960, which is NOT included with the sale of the bottle.

Offered for sale is a 19th century, medium-sized, apothecary pharmacy bottle sporting a “CUPR.SU….” glass label! The 8 inch tall bottle is almost full of its striking, robins egg blue, powdery contents. The base has “W.T. CO. 1889 Pat.” embossed on it. This label under glass (LUG) powder bottle is in very nice condition. Its visual appeal makes it well worth displaying despite missing a third of its glass label. Offered for your consideration is a vintage, all-original, framed paper advertisement or sign for the cure of Gonorrhea and Gleet in men. Of interest is the matching 10.5" x 7.5" wood frame with the lightly stamped word "OKAY" on the top. This unusual piece of advertising dates to the early 1900's. Condition: Mild, unobtrusive wear to the paper. The frame retains 2 early holes used for hanging along with various surface dings and an early slice of wood missing from the right side of frame. Historically, Pabst's Okay Specifics was cited by the 1906 FDA Act for various violations including failure to mention alcohol content, having no known curative ingredient, etc, resulting in frequent seizure and destruction of the product!

Offered for sale is a 19th century, medium-sized, apothecary pharmacy OINTMENT JAR sporting a fancy, label-under-glass, hand - painted label, "UNG. SULPH. CO." The 6.75 inch tall earthenware jar still retains partial contents and is in very good condition. The acorn finial has been long lost, a ˝” edge chip and minor age crack do not distract from an otherwise distinctive lid. The jar is in nice condition, and the label is near perfect! In 20 years of specializing in pharmacy and apothecary antiquities, this is the first time I have offered this difficult to find jar. Please note the other ointment jars from the same NY pharmacy available for purchase.

Offered for sale is a 19th century, medium-sized, apothecary pharmacy bottle sporting an extraordinarily RARE hand-painted label, “ACID. NITROMU. DIL.”!! You are buying the bottle on the right. From a short distance, this hand-painted label actually appears to be label under glass (LUG) bottle! The 8 inch tall tincture bottle has an open pontil on the base and sports a ground glass stopper, and is in fine condition. An original dose glass cover completes this bottle. The label is somewhat worn as seen in the photos but is still fairly complete. It is part of an unusual collection of 6 similar bottles that are offered for sale, some of which are etched WITTE’S PATENT 11/14/76. This particular bottle is NOT etched with this patent information. In 20 years of specializing in pharmacy and apothecary antiquities, this is the first time that I have seen this version of a HAND PAINTED apothecary bottle!
