Offered is a rarely found, 1920-25, Milton Bradley dexterity game entitled "TWIN TARGET". The game features a brightly colored lithograph target depicting an African-American Gent to the left and a Caucasian Clown to the right, each with wide, gaping, open mouths in which one is to aim a ball. This brightly lithographed cardboard game retains its 3 original wooden balls as well as cardboard cover, box, and target piece. Measuring 13 inches square, the game displays wonderfully! As evident in the photos, the box cover and bottom show expected edge wear and many years back, the box corners were reinforced with tape. In the center of the box cover, a puncture is evident (see photo) that does not go through to the inside. The interior target piece does not show the same level of wear as it was protected by the cover and box bottom. The box cover is marked on the bottom, "Milton Bradley Company, Springfield, Mass. USA" and "Made in USA 4682". A RARELY found, quite visually captivating Black Memorabilia collectible!

Measuring 15 inches long by 13 inches wide, this delightful, unsigned, watercolor features a charming rendition of a young black boy straddling a fence while clutching a plump watermelon!Remaining in its original frame with original wooden and paper backing, this watercolor retains its framer's identifying sticker which reads, "Staton's Art Shop 5409 Germantown Ave." Perhaps this Germantown address indicates Philadelphia area origin? In the interests of proper conservation, the new owner should re-frame this lovely piece with appropriate acid-free materials. Please ignore any white streaks seen in photos; these are the result of light reflection off of the glass. A lovely watercolor- nicely executed!

Measuring 14 inches wide x 5 5/8 inches long, this wonderful, all-original, 1930's cardboard sign advertises Fook's Original Ice Cold 5 Cent Blackberry Punch sign. The sign features a stereotypical, bare-footed, straw-hatted black boy holding a basket of berries in one hand, and a large bottle of Blackberry Punch in the other. The sign is in all-original condition. It bears the scars of its age and has dirt and water staining. The lower right corner is missing and the lower left corner has torn off but was clumsily re-taped in place at some time during its history. Despite its flaws, this is a rare piece of Black ephemera advertising an obscure local, southern-brand soft drink. It would look phenomenal framed!

Measuring approximately 5 inches long with the pen body approximately 1/2 inches in diameter, this absolutely darling, circa 1950’s, pair of wooden novelty writing pens feature Black Native Island Girls! The detailing of each of the plastic Black Native Girls is quite fine featuring straw baskets atop their heads filled with plastic fruit, fuzzy black fabric hair, hand-painted facial features, movable jointed arms, and brass-colored hoop earrings, bracelets and necklaces. Each wears a sateen head covering, a lace shirt and silk cumberbunds. They are identical with the exception of fruit and cumberbund color! The pen bodies are wooden and differ only in color of the wood. Neither pen works and it is unknown whether the ink has dried or can be coaxed back to life! The pens are unmarked and are surmised to have never been used due to their very fine, all-original condition! While pictured together, each pen is sold separately. To make a purchase, please email us stating which pen you wish to purchase so that we can customize your order form.

In the mid-1800's, an unknown artist painted the face of a young Black boy in warm, soft colors, and unbeknown to the artist, forever immortalized the young boy's image! Since that time a variety of items were been produced in the image of the "Young Black boy with the Torn Hat" or "Johnny Griffin". This circa 1920-30's Johnny Griffin item is constructed in solid brass and is known as a document clip used to hold together important papers. It remains functional for such use today or may be simply used as an attractive desk paperweight! It is in all original condition with delightful patina- not a reproduction- no replaced parts- and measures 4 1/8 inches long x 2 3/8 inches wide. It does not retain any marking other than a mold number 5241. Johnny Griffin Black Americana collectibles should form the cornerstone of any serious Black Memorabilia collection! To see all of the Johnny Griffin items currently available for sale, simply type “Johnny Griffin” into the search box on our web home page.
