Offered for your consideration is an outstanding and rarely found, circa late 19th century, black and gray painted wooden UNDERTAKERS sign! The sign measures approximately 6’ long x 12" wide and is double sided. It is in very nice overall condition except for areas of paint loss, some crackling and general wear expected of a vintage sign, noted especially to one side. There is also a very subtle bow to the sign, but this does not take away from its most unusual appeal. There are 2 metal brackets, one on each side, which were originally used for mounting upon a building exterior. A highly unusual and macabre offering for those who collect funerary pieces!

Offered are 2 Seidlitz tins from the 1930s, each priced separately. Very rarely found, the first tin is a wonderful, R.H. Macy Department Store, New York City, New York, drug store remedy tin once contained the well-known Seidlitz Powders, U.S.P. used to calm gastro-intestinal upsets! The empty tin measures 4.5 inches wide x 3 inches deep x 1.5 inches high, and with the exception of the surface wear as noted in photos, the tin remains in wonderful condition! Quite visually appealing, the Macy's tin is painted a light blue-toned green. The lift-off cover features an attractive, stylized, scroll, cream-colored R.H. Macy label. The base of the tin retains its original dosage and directional label, and as noted, the product was "APPROVED BY MACY'S BUREAU OF STANDARDS"! The Macy tin is priced at $20.00. The second tin is an empty REXALL Seidlitz tin produced by United Drugs, Boston, Massachusetts. The tin has been protected by shrink wrapping which can be removed if desired. The tin measures 4.50 inches wide, 3.25 inches high, and 1.75 inches deep and is in fine condition with the expected superficial surface abrasions. The Rexall tin is priced at $30.00. Two wonderful tins that display very nicely! As each is priced separately (see photos for pricing), please email us stating which item you wish to purchase so that we can customize your order form.

The A.D. Pierce Pharmacy originated in Hartford, Connecticut, at 914 Main Street during the late 19th century and later relocated to 247 Sigourney Street in Hartford doing business as A.D. Pierce and Son. Posted along with photos of the tins are 2 images of the pharmacy, circa 1960, which are NOT included with the sale of the tins.
