This visually graphic, 2 piece, CALADRYL CREAM display advertisement is absolutely wonderful! This drugstore countertop diecut display collection dates to the 1950s.

According to Parke Davis, the pharmacist had the liberty to arrange these colorful displays in a fashion suitable to the individual drug store setting. Each of the diecuts are designed to be folded under to facilitate stand-alone displays.

The large diecut with mom and kids measures 11.5” wide x 18.5” high and the small medicine image is 7” tall x 6” wide. The set is in unused condition with only a few minor and unobtrusive crimps to the edges and the images are near perfect. Included are several copies of the advertising brochure given to pharmacy customers to help promote the sale of the product as well as the original Parke Davis “suggestions for display” directional sheet.

Marked ”Litho in U.S.A.” on each piece. A lovely display ready for your collection!

$80.00

Incredible graphics say it all for this highly unique, female medicine bottle, BonKora, dating from the 1930s - 1940s era.

The bottle measures nearly 7.5 inches high and is complete with original contents. The condition of the bottle is very nice with only minor staining next to the letters in the word, BONKORA. Although the box is damaged, it displays well as it retains the image of the nude female- an interesting conversation piece!

A bit of history: BONKORA was actually advertised as a weight loss treatment in print advertising, although this usage is not stated on the box. With sales in decline in the late 1930s, the BONKORA manufacturer attempted to make their product a bit more interesting by streamlining the original, bulkier silhouette in their advertising and adding a naked lady on the label. While a clever touch, the product’s popularity continued to wan – perhaps due to a combination of the economics of the Great Depression and the increased federal enforcement of earlier-legislated laws prohibiting unsubstantiated wild curative claims for any and all maladies.

$30.00 Each

Offered are 2 Seidlitz tins from the 1930s, each priced separately.

Very rarely found, the first tin is a wonderful, R.H. Macy Department Store, New York City, New York, drug store remedy tin once contained the well-known Seidlitz Powders, U.S.P. used to calm gastro-intestinal upsets!

The empty tin measures 4.5 inches wide x 3 inches deep x 1.5 inches high, and with the exception of the surface wear as noted in photos, the tin remains in wonderful condition!

Quite visually appealing, the Macy's tin is painted a light blue-toned green. The lift-off cover features an attractive, stylized, scroll, cream-colored R.H. Macy label. The base of the tin retains its original dosage and directional label, and as noted, the product was "APPROVED BY MACY'S BUREAU OF STANDARDS"! The Macy tin is priced at $20.00.

The second tin is an empty REXALL Seidlitz tin produced by United Drugs, Boston, Massachusetts. The tin has been protected by shrink wrapping which can be removed if desired. The tin measures 4.50 inches wide, 3.25 inches high, and 1.75 inches deep and is in fine condition with the expected superficial surface abrasions. The Rexall tin is priced at $30.00.

Two wonderful tins that display very nicely!

$50.00

This offering includes a box of 4, diminutive, vintage 1930 - 1940 era, medicinal tins in their original, unused condition. They each come complete with 2 wax capsules, an instructional insert and needle. The tins measure about 1.25 inches x 1.25 inches and are in nice condition with minor wear. The box is open on 1 end and measures 2.75 x 2.75 inches.

Some history:

Until the development and widespread adoption of antibiotics, dilute solutions of silver nitrate used to be dropped into newborn babies' eyes at birth to prevent contraction of gonorrhea and other infections from the mother. Incidence of eye infections and blindness of newborns was reduced by this method; incorrect dosage, however, could cause blindness in extreme cases. This protection was first used by Credé in 1881.
