This complete, 204 page, 1886 atlas is packed with wonderful hand-colored maps of the United States, each individual state, and the countries and continents of the world including two pages devoted to the principal cities of the world. Additionally, this teaching tool provides an interesting history of the political parties of the United States from 1607-1886, a chronological outline of American history from 986 to 1885, an illustration of the seals of each state, population charts, important inventions, an alphabetical list of the towns and counties of each state and many more examples of fascinating and obscure US historical trivia! The hardbound text measures 14" L x 12" W. The cloth covers are faded with worn edges. The back cover remains bound to the spine. The front cover has become unbound from the book spine but remains loosely attached to the book via its cloth binding. The pages have light unobtrusive foxing while the hand-coloring remains unchanged by time. The majority of the maps and images measure 9.5" x 12" at the decorative borders. There are a handful of larger maps measuring 12" x 16" at their borders, i.e. Texas, Pennsylvania, California, USA, and South America (a bit smaller). Published by Donahue and Henneberry, Printers and Binders, Chicago, March 1886. A fabulous historical reference text and atlas that provides a perspective on the United States and the world in 1886. The maps and images are suitable for framing if desired, but this historical text begs to remain intact!

Measuring 14.25 inches x 7.25 inches, this circa 1920's, Folk Art oil painting by an unknown itinerant artist expresses the artist's interpretation of a moonlit Niagara Falls. The painting retains its original black painted wood frame, and it is backed by the original, sturdy, mounting board. The scene is dominated by sultry blue tones with accents of white in the snow-capped mountain peaks and red flowers in the fore-ground. The painting does have a bit of superficial, light scuffing here and there with slight remnants of adhesive evident and some age-related soiling-- all consistent with the painting's age. In general, these blemishes are not readily or easily evident. Please study close-up photos to make your own determination. Additionally, a circular remnant of a dark substance is evident at the center base of the painting; it has been partially removed by the previous owner. A serene and tranquil painting!

This delightful, 1920's, hand-painted, English pull toy features a darling horse and jockey! When pulled by its string, the toy rolls along on its metal and rubber wheels, causing the jockey to raise and lower himself off of the horse as the horse makes a coordinated "jumping" motion as his front legs raise up slightly. The toy is labeled "Loros Bros Ltd London England" within a small triangle that is painted on one side of the metal supporting rim (see photos). The horse and rider are constructed of wood and are affixed to the metal frame. The toy measures 11 inches tall when the rider is standing straight up and is 10.5 inches long. Condition is quite fine given the toy's 80+ years of age. There are scrapes and minor wear to the paint here and there, the horse's tail is missing, and 2 newer nails in the horse's hind legs were added as reinforcement at some point. The toy is structurally sound and works quite well! It is simply adorable and displays beautifully!!

Box is stamped "Made in USA" and "A Quality"!Meant to be displayed on a store counter top and the balloons to be sold individually, this display is in complete, untouched, never-used, condition. The box colors are actually brighter than the photos convey. The box measures 8.25 inches wide x 6 inches deep x 2.25 inches high. The box cover features a Mexican gentleman leading his donkey-pulled-cart that is brimming with brightly-colored, inflated balloons. The cover is designed in the "pop-up style" (see photo number 1) which enhances its visual display appeal! Obviously due to the 40+ years age of these balloons, they are no longer meant to be functional but are now to be enjoyed for display only!

Measuring 9 inches in diameter and 2.75 inches high, this gorgeous, Ohio-made, yellowware fruit bowl features fabulous blue sponging with gold gilt highlights along its decoratively embossed and scalloped rim. The bowl has glaze crazing typical of an 85+ year old piece of pottery. An extremely tight hairline on one side of the bowl has been photographed for one’s perusal. It does not affect structural integrity, and the pricing of the bowl reflects this imperfection. No other flaws! An outstanding piece of American Spongeware! Becoming much more difficult to find- particularly in this condition!
