Measuring 16 inches long x 6 inches high x 7 1/2 inches wide, this fabulous FOLK ART, Country-style, child’s doll cradle was loving constructed from “make-do” pieces of wood remnants many, many years ago! The former owner, a 98 year old doll collector, remembers playing with it from a very young age! An interesting note: the base of the cradle still bears the old patent number from the crate remnant that the cradle was constructed of! Painted in a great mellow green, the rocking cradle runners were left in their original color- red with remnants of black lettering! Makes for absolutely fabulous visual appeal! The cradle will accommodate a doll up to 14 ˝ inches in length. It is wonderful, gently used condition. The bottoms of the runners show appropriate wear with no paint remaining where the runner stands meets the surface. There is also expected age wear to board edges. A wonderful early wooden toy!!! |
