Offered for sale is a wonderful 19th century apothecary pharmacy OINTMENT JAR sporting a fancy, label-under-glass, hand - painted label, "UNG.ZINCI." The 6.5 inch tall earthenware jar still retains some of its contents and is in very good condition. The acorn finial has been long lost. The label is very good except for an unobtrusive vertical crack that is above and below the “C”. Please see the Eli Lilly label pasted to the back of jar in photo. Jars such as these remain an elusive pharmacy collectible. Please note the other ointment jars from the same NY pharmacy available for purchase. |
