From the estate of a former New England area School Teacher, comes this wonderful, RARE box of 12, Patent date 1927, Eberhard Faber, New York, Number 175, Color Art Pencils! Crayon and color pencil boxes of this age rarely survive in such fine overall condition! Measuring 5 inches long x 3 3/4 inches wide when closed, this cardboard box contains 11 of the 12 original pencils, all of which are vary in length as they have been used. The 12th pencil- a yellow- is a replacement for the original yellow; it is vintage as well and made by Ambeco, also of New York. The visual appeal of this early school or art item is certainly well-placed in its wonderfully unique box that features 3 different, colorful scenes from the fairy tale, "Hansel and Gretel"! The close tab of the box actually slides out to reveal the 3rd Hansel and Gretel scene! These colored pencils are advertised on the box "For Map Coloring, Sketching, School Art Work", and are truly a very unique discovery! Wonderful eye appeal!!!
