Measuring 22 inches wide x 13.5 inches high, this highly-detailed, hand-colored, 1886 map of ASIA comes from the People's Family Atlas, George F. Cram, Engraver and publisher, Chicago, Illinois. A sampling of the countries shown are: China, Russia, Mongolia, Siam, India, Persia, Arabia, Turkey, Anam (Vietnam), Tibet, Burma, Niphon (Nippon or Japan), Corea (Korea). Featured are close-up detail boxes of Canton, Delhi, and Jerusalem. Mounted on a museum-quality, acid-free, foam core backing (which can be used as the backing when the piece is later framed), and protectively encased in shrink-wrap until ready to be framed, this map remains in superb condition-- no rips, tears, foxing or other discoloration. All print and map detailing is very sharp and easily read. Please note that any white marks seen in photos are due to light reflection off of the shrink-wrap and do not represent a condition problem. A fascinating look back into historical 19th century Asian geography!
